Encrypted Emails
Sometimes we will need to send our members a message using secure email. We do this using the Buckinghamshire Building Society 365 Encrypted Email Service. This video shows you how to open and view these encrypted emails.
Troubleshooting
Mobile devices
On some mobile devices, e.g., iPhone, messages may sometimes not open. Try again in a few minutes; or try to open the message on a desktop PC or tablet.
Shared mailboxes
You may not be able to open messages sent to a shared mailbox that is accessible by multiple people, if it is not an e-mail account in your name. If you are unable to open an encrypted e-mail sent to a shared mailbox (e.g., info@company.com), please ask for the encrypted message to be re-sent to your personal company e-mail account.
Outlook
If you are using Outlook to open an encrypted message on a desktop PC, you need to be running Outlook 2013 or newer. Ensure you have the latest Windows updates.
Logging In
If you are asked to log back in to your e-mail account, make sure you log in using the e-mail address that the e-mail was sent to.
Attachments
Any PDF attachments sent through our encrypted service can be downloaded securely.
(Please Note: Most documents sent from Bucks via encrypted e-mail will be in PDF format. If you are sent a Word, Excel or PowerPoint document in an encrypted message these are further encrypted. Your device may support viewing these attachments online. However, if you wish to download and open these files, you will need Office 2013 or newer. You can then log into Word/Excel/PowerPoint (click ‘Change User’ if prompted) with the same email address to which the encrypted message was sent to.)
