The effects of the cost-of-living crisis are still being felt across the UK, placing additional pressures on many households, leading some to face issues such as “homelessness, overwhelming debt, welfare issues, and discrimination.” Buckinghamshire is not immune to these challenges.
In tackling these problems, Citizens Advice Bucks is an independent charity that provides a vital service: providing ‘good quality, confidential and independent advice’ for those who encounter ‘complicated or intimidating’ problems. Their invaluable advice costs nothing for those seeking help and, as an independent charity, they are reliant upon voluntary funding from local supporters, charitable grants, and local corporate partners.
Towards the end of last year, we partnered with Citizens Advice Bucks to support the launch of their fundraising appeal ‘Here for Bucks’. This aimed to raise funds to cover the recruitment and training costs for new volunteer Enquiry Advisers.
“The appeal has been a great success so far, with enough money raised to start the training for 5 new volunteers. As the appeal continues, [we] look forward to working with Buckinghamshire Building Society and the people of Buckinghamshire to close the gap and raise another £15,000.” - Citizens Advice Bucks
